Terms of Service
These terms apply when you download or play The Sunken Crown (the “game”), made by Thimios, Chania, Crete, Greece (“I”, “me”). By installing or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
1. Licence
I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on your own Android devices for non-commercial use. The game, its art, music, text, code and name remain my property (or my licensors’). You may not copy, sell, rent, modify, reverse engineer or extract assets from the game, except as the law expressly allows.
2. Playing fair
Do not cheat, use bots or automation, tamper with the app or its saved data to gain purchases or rewards you did not earn, or use the game in a way that breaks the law or Google Play’s rules. The game is single-player, so tampering with your own save mostly affects only you, but I may block builds or purchases I believe are fraudulent.
3. Free to play, ads and purchases
The game is free to download. It contains optional rewarded ads: you choose whether to watch one in exchange for a reward. It also offers in-app purchases, including gems (a cosmetic currency) and the one-time Adventurer’s Pass. Prices are shown in Google Play in your local currency before you buy and include any taxes that apply.
Purchases never sell stats, items, meta-progression currency or anything else that makes you stronger than a free player could become. They remove ads and speed up cosmetic rewards.
4. Virtual items
Gems, gold, items and other in-game things are virtual, have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to other players, and are licensed to you for use in the game only. If the game is uninstalled or its data is cleared, local progress and virtual items may be lost; purchases that are not consumed (such as the Adventurer’s Pass) can be restored through your Google account.
5. Payments and refunds
All purchases are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google’s terms. Refund requests are handled through Google Play according to its refund policy. If you are a consumer in the EU you may have a statutory right of withdrawal; for digital content that is delivered immediately, this right can end once delivery has started with your consent, as explained by Google at the time of purchase. Nothing in these terms removes rights you cannot lawfully give up. If something you bought does not work, email me and I will help.
6. Updates and availability
The game is a work in progress. I may update, change or remove features, balance, content and prices, or stop supporting the game, with reasonable notice where that is possible. Updates may be required to keep playing.
7. No warranty
The game is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, I give no promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suit a particular purpose. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights, such as the right to a game that is of satisfactory quality.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of virtual items or progress caused by things outside my reasonable control (for example, losing your phone). I do not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer law.
9. Ending these terms
You can stop using the game at any time by uninstalling it. I may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
10. Privacy
How the game handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
I may change these terms, for example when new features arrive. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms; if a change is significant, I will say so in the game’s update notes.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Greek law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Disputes may also be raised through the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform where it applies.
